That render is a bit old also it's colour is has been altered enhancing blues. Many of the new builds are copper and gold accented. Some even red to the east and west with brick. It's no more blue then any other city such as Vancouver that has been booming for years now.

The first level of the observation deck is at 342m, if tge One gets it's increase approved it will be very close to it at 338.3m. I think the city and Tower owners would only step in a block anything taller if it were to block out the tower and its antennas and views.

A wet suit. My roommate would routinely go surfing off Lawrencetown, Nova Scotia in all kinds of weather.

I've done it in a few lakes in Northeastern Ontario. I've done it in November just before the lake froze over, a polar bear dip where a big hole was cut into the ice in February and in May when the ice was coming off of the lake. There was always a hot sauna nearby where I would go inside before and run back to after. As I was in a bathing suit, going into the cold air was often almost as painful as being in the water. At least the water isn't below zero.

Yeah, apparently a wet suit makes a world of difference. My colleague says he goes kitesurfing in Lake O in the winter. I've seen a couple people doing that on Lake Erie as well in late November.

I did the polar bear dip for charity once in Oakville and luckily it was like 10 degrees and no wind that day. So comfortable. Ran into the lake and as soon as I got balls deep, and they shrivelled up into the size of raisins, I booked it out of there. But some people went full immersion. After the adrenaline, and double digit weather, tonnes of us walked back to our cars shirtless or in just swimsuits. Odd sight to see people strolling down the sidewalk half nake on January 1st.

Looking nice! It's good to see some gentler density happening rather than just 30+ storey towers. I'm hoping to travel out there this summer and see these suburban centres in person. It seems like tons of growth in the right direction in the past few years.

If you do make it out here make sure to ride the skytrain. Especially the Millenium and Expo lines. Also you might like this vid:

^Does that include the height increase, which I believe hasn't yet been approved?
