Just a detail question: what is the difference of height between the "rooftop" and the parapet (its height is 417 meters) ?

It seems that the height of the rooftop is around 405 or 410 meters, but I'm not sure about that. The parapet seems to be around 10 meter-high.

Well the rooftop is the flat surface that you can physically stand on atop the building, which is the 105th floor 1,334' 8" or 1,340' 4" from Vesey Street. The parapet is a wall that extends above the roof 1,368' 0" or 1,373' 8". What sucks is that the roof or 105th floor doesn't exceed the original North Tower. The parapet is what reaches the North Tower's height. I just wish the communication ring was included because it exceeds 1,400'.

I like it! With the spire so tall and frail-looking, yet with the awesome lighting capabilities... It only makes sense to raise its profile as something truly presentable. In yo' face, Banksy. (Not really lol... But still. We're making the best with what we've got. And it can be improved! 1 WTC can be an even more amazing, stylish, iconic building, even though it's mostly done. It's the creative flourishes.)

The parapet extends below what would be considered the actual roof height if it didn't exist.

"As the NYPD and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey iron out the final plans for the World Trade Center site, new details are emerging—including this week's news that the roof of the site's vehicle security checkpoint at the WTC will be occupied by a lovely elevated park."

I would like you to tell me your opinion about this:

Please look at this picture:

How will they deal deal with the empty spaces in the angles?

I guess they cannot leave it empty. Will they pour it with concrete?

Why can't they just leave it empty? It's already built and filling it with concrete seems impractical, expensive and pointless.

Also, as far as the park above the security station, we have been aware of that for awhile. I have not seen those particular renderings before though.

A lot of buildings have empty space like that. Almost every shopping mall I know of does, among other things. Ornamental facades sometimes hide old facades or revisions.

Nothing. It won't be hollow. Those corners have been fitted with non structural steel for the glass to come in. The corners won't be visible once the glass is completely put in..........
