excuse the tangent, but if you want to think about what luck is or isn't, i highly recommend spending forty intense/breezy minutes on netlflix watching this documentary -- long shot:

https://youtu.be/PDxISykYRc4

^ luck -- its kind of like a glass half full, glass half empty debate. maybe how you think about it is who you are. was the long shot guy lucky because somebody he knew found a great advocate for him? or that what happened at the ballpark that day was all just luck? or was it because he's a baseball fan and goes to the games? etc., etc. ---

it really makes you think about the topic -- is luck one thing? or a combination of things??? if the latter, when does it not become luck?

just don't think too much, because you can drive yourself crazy! personally, i think the advocate sums it up perfectly well at the very end of the documentary.

so anyway -- long shot, check it out, its well worth your time!

there's also different kinds of luck.

winning $250,000 on a 100% random scratch-off lottery ticket is a little bit different than netting a $250,000 profit on a property investment over 5 years in a neighborhood that was on the bubble of possibly gentrifying.
