I think they did, limited access at best. had to be done fully escorted. I did not see anything that looked like household items. There was quite a bit of vandalism and a couple of squatters.

I wonder how much of an effect the current oil prices will have on these projects?

I don't think there will be much of an effect personally.

what do they teach in journalism school now. at least get the facts right.
Makes sense it was built during the last boom. With today's projects having to go through a lot of processes and hearings just to get approved. It seems highly unlikely that this project was built in the last ten years.

The inspection service that the RMWB used was fired during the construction of Pennhororwood. I had them on one of my projects and I was catching things they should have. They missed a major code violation that cost 100,000.00 to rectify.

Those are gone now, but we will see what a couple years of $40 oil does to the stuff that remains...

Heard today that YMM is thinking of adding on already. And based on what the terminal was like today I can see it coming soon. Plus they do need more food options on the airside.

I don't think they are "thinking" about it. They already recieved $25 million in funding for it. They are lengthening the runway and adding additional taxi lanes, adding a smaller emergency runway, and doing some additions to the terminal.

The one thing I would like to see is a complete reno/move of the food court. Most of the airport is extremely nice but that food court is absolutely terrible.

They definately need at least one more sit down restaurant after security, Earls is always compketely packed. They should get a Chili's, every airport has a Chili's.

The Famoso should have been on the air side. But i suspect Earls got the exclusive rites.

Fort McMurray River Amenities Building.

Contractors job shack did not get moved when they built up the bank. They needed to get a rubber raft to get the computers out.

The Athabasca river is still a few weeks from breaking.

My Final Post of Shell Place in Fort McMurray.

Some of the shots have been posted before but they were the best shots.

June is the first CFL games then FC Edmonton Play. After that the opening of the Western Canada Games and Then Aerosmith Play in July.

The Change rooms will be updated a bit for the CFL teams but remeber this is a comunity Stadium.

Wow! Can't believe how spectacular this turned out! Easily the best sports facility in any city under 750 000 in the entire country.

^ Agree completely. SHS Stadium looked legit. Smaller than a typical pro stadium, obviously, but still very good. The only improvement I would suggest is adding some higher camera positions to improve the view on TV.

Yah I thought they could use the upper roof more. There are a number of locations with higher parapets.

Well, the headline is sensational. No reason why it can't be put on hold and looked at again in a couple years if the cost is too hard to stomach right now.
