Nice updates. I travel down this way literally everyday. Its nice to see the density being developed in the Cherry Creek area.

Pretty amazing - we went so many years with hardly anything being built in Cherry Creek North. Now it's like the whole district is being rebuilt from the ground up!

Y'all know how they came up with the name Marriott Moxy?
Well, I'll be happy to tell ya.

They were sitting around in a brainstorming session trying to come up with a cool name that could have good Millennial appeal as well as more general appeal. Someone offered up "Marriott Foxy"- likely suggested by someone a little older that had been a Jimi Hendrix fan. Everybody generally liked the ring of "Marriott Foxy" but some felt that using "foxy" might not be best idea. After a pause someone else piped up and said "What about Moxy?"

And now you know the story of how Marriott Moxy got its name.

Looks like demolition has started on the structure on third avenue between St. Paul and Milwaukee. I vaguely recall this was going to be appts. and condos, but can't find anything about it on the net.

Nice. From the drawing it looks like it will stretch the full block where there currently is a laundry, and "nails" place and surface lot, with the alley to be vacated.

For years, I thought 1st Avenue between the Mall and Colorado Blvd. was grossly underutilized given its primo location. A lot of projects in this immediate area over past 2 years and this adds to that list.

Be nice to get some street improvements - perhaps a central median with better lighting and landscaping.

Given its primo location, I got to wonder if Zaidy's is long for this world:

Ryan has some nice updates on the the Cherry Creek projects on Denverinfill.

In one of the comments someone stated that Bad, Bath & Beyond employees had told them the store was closing this fall to make way for an apartment project.

The redevelopment of the west side of the mall would be big news indeed, though hate to lose those retailers.

Bed, Bath & Beyond is moving into the vacant Sports Authority by Super Target at Alameda & Colorado.

There was a proposal that was discussed here awhile back to tear down the vacant Sears and 2nd Ave parking garage as part of a big redevelopment of that section of Cherry Creek into a mix of offices and apartments. Also, I wonder if Elways would stay in Cherry Creek? With all the new construction there are probably some potential spots available in one of the many new buildings.

Last I heard the redevelopment of the west side of Clayton Lane is still in the works and will include the extension of Columbia down to 1st Ave. Will include demo of the Sears, Whole Foods, and the above ground parking garage. The underground garage below HW Home/Crate & Barrel will be expanded with the new construction.
