This project recently received a construction loan. Pretty much money wise all is well.

This is the first time I have come across this thread. I started at page one and was not crazy about the renders. By the time I got to the construction photos on page 12, I did a 180. This is building is impressive.

It's "topped out", but not in the SSP sense.

They had a ceremony to celebrate the topping out, but the tower still has a good deal to rise. I would say around 100 ft. The top portion, however, will be concrete.

One of the mods has to edit the thread title. It's not a pyramid but rather a tetrahedron

Quote:
The colossal sloped wall that sweeps up Danish starchitect Bjarke Ingels’ first major New York City design project at 625 West 57th Street is almost up. Last month, the Durst Organization scored a $411.5 million construction loan to finance the 43-story, 800,000-square-foot rental building, which recently topped out. And according to Buzzbuzzhome, the Dursts would really like everyone to stop calling the eye-catching structure a “pyramid.” “My father doesn’t like people calling it a ‘pyramid,’” developer Alexander Durst, son of 1 World Trade Center developer Douglas Durst, told the New York Daily News. “It’s a tetrahedron.” Prices have yet to be announced, but the top-floor rentals could go for $90 a foot. Twenty percent of the units will be affordable. - See more at: http://therealdeal.com/blog/2014/11/....YkkJnlrJ.dpuf

So is this going to come to a point on top or not? Why is it "topped out" with a flat top right now? Did they cut out those floors?

So, I believe no floors have been cut, all apts. have been completed and they held the top out ceremony although the last "piece" is still to be built

I see. So the top is solely decorative/hidden mechanicals? A lot left to do for the real top out. Glad to know nothing changed in the design.

I absolutely love this building. If I had the opportunity (and means) to live in New York, this and the zig-zag one a few places over are in my top two!

I am in love with the cladding. Looks like the hull plating on the NCC-1701-A.
