So much less powerful of a presence than the first design. At least we get something but from those last pictures doesnt look nearly tall enough

Damn, I looked at the title and thought 1000 meters at first. Got me all excited for nothing.

Its a nice design. Good height for the area.

I don't think the pics do the skyline any justice with it looking so stumpy!

If there was only a way to elongate them, hmmmmmm

That will look huge in this location considering how big Essex looks. Hope it goes!

The title says "1000M" then "832 ft".

???

That's the name of the tower which is at 1000 S Michigan. No one in the US uses meters so "1000M" literally means nothing of substance to any normal American

I stretched the image a bit. Kind of difficult to know if I did too much or not enough. The image is at a pretty funky angle.

Yeah, that looks pretty good. It was an angled picture of what I think was a curved projection ... of an already-distorted image. So yeah, we were starting with the fourth Michael Keaton from Multiplicity from the get-go.

(... does anyone else get that reference? It's fine. I'm fine.)

1000 meters would be well over twice the height of the Sears Tower.

This now looks like an average condo tower in Miami. Its been so watered down from the original design that I wish they could just start over. I never say this but on this one I hope it doesnt make it and we get something better next cycle. Michigan Avenue is just to important.

Hah! I haven't thought of that movie in years. I totally thought it starred Tom Hanks though. My memory was way off.

Apparently its selling pretty well. Here is a somewhat recent-ish article about it:

I walked be the sales center recently and was disappointed to see that it was closed and open by appointment only. :/

In other news, kinda cool to see the original design (sort of) live-on in Miami: http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/show...=217447&page=2

Damn, that looks pretty cool, even for a Miami tower. It's a bit different from the original 1000M proposal, but I like it none the less. I would definitely prefer an iteration such as that in place of the current somewhat weirdly proportioned tower that we will (maybe) be getting.

I would love for this building to get built. The south part of the skyline needs a thick bulky skyscraper! Essex and NEMA are thin.
