I guess he was an actor or something... Either that, or the photographer waited there a long time to get his perfect shot. It could also be pure coincidence, if so that's a good one. This building is hideous. No way the municipal by-laws would allow that nowadays.

The city rectified that eventually

Reminds me of a handsome old 60s bank building that some jackass workwear company in Winnipeg bought and painted a similar shade of mustard yellow a couple of years ago. It drives me nuts. I seriously need to look into whether there are similar bylaws in this town.

What a treat! I remember growing up in the 90's here and I remember how dumpy this city was. In a good way though. The skyline was ancient.

I love it. Keep them coming. Those were my stomping grounds during my UG years (1990-94).

Does anyone on here have pictures of Molson stadium in the 1970's and 1980's? Seems you can only find pictures on the net of Molson stadium from 1997 onwards and from the 1950's to the early 20th century.

Wow, that was so horrendous, gross and filthy.

I can remember my childhood back then. Sometimes we had tons of dead fish drifting along the Seine river.
That wasn't only a grim sight, the smell was also insufferable along the river. Crossing a bridge would cause you some bad nausea.
It wasn't too frequent, but whenever it would occur, it would feel like some stupid apocalypse.
And people wouldn't eat the fish from the river. They were like radioactive. Lol.

Today, we have some 30 species of fish that came back to the region, to thrive again over here.
Give thanks to environmental regulations!

Downtown Montreal in 1991, a few rare pics of 1501 McGill going up with Le 1000 and 1250 RL. I've never seen construction pics of 1501 until I saw these honestly.

^ Thanks for sharing. It's incredible both how little and how much has changed in the skyline in 25 years.

Anyone around Montreal in the 90s, probably remembers that church on Doctor Penfield/Cote-des-Neiges
