Kind of like Milan, I'd say. Not a major tourist hub in Italy, but quite a significant spot of their industries and economy. So you don't get to see it too often, but it's historic central fabric still looks 'grand' enough.

oh i think it's 100 times much nicer than Milan. Milan in my opinion is pure manure

I really like Torino. There's a gritty beauty to it.
I'm not sure grit is the proper term... Make no mistake, this in the north of the country is actually fairly maintained and people there are not particularly to be pitied. The main concern goes to the southern provinces. In fact, without the incredibly powerful and nasty crime syndicates ruining the south and spoiling the Italian culture as a whole, I simply think Italy would surpass France already.
