After a half day in Regensburg and armed with a Bayern ticket, I headed to Landshut on the way to Munich for a pleasant surprise. Landshut was founded in 1204 and saw its best days from the late 14th century to the beginning of the 16th.
Martinskirche boasts the world's tallest brick church tower.
The main street is wide with many interesting buildings lining on both sides. Seems like a wealthy town.
A short uphill walk leads to a nice vantage point with the town at your footsteps.
It was a bit too cold to eat in the outdoors though.
