I tell you what, Japan in the 80s and 90s, was absolutely the best country in Asia, no flaws, like heaven.

Now in the 2010s, Japan maybe still good, I don't know, highly doubtful, flawsome.

Japan manages to have so much more character, idiosyncratic culture, and riotous individualism than almost any other country, compare this to the straightjacketed conformity of Singapore or mainland China
