In honor of the opening of the first phase of the new Kosiuszko Bridge tonight. It's the first of the city's bridges to showcase the light shows Gov Cuomo has planned for the various spans.

_

Three questions:

1) When where those spears atop the finials on the Queensboro removed?

2) What happened to them? Do they still exist?

3) If they do still exist why were they not reinstalled when the bridge underwent its rehab several years ago?

I have wondered about this for a very long time. Anyone have any insight? Has this been discussed before?

That’s so people don’t steal. You can still see the subject matter.
