The developer says Q2 2015.

There are still a number of steps to go, including waiting for current tenant RocketSpace to move out. Then they still have to pull the permits before demolition can begin.

RocketSpace has to move out of 181 Fremont by July 21:

The new lease at 225 Bush Street will house the RocketSpace Accelerator for seed funded tech startups, and largely replace the function of RocketSpace’s current headquarters at 181 Fremont Street, which will be demolished as part of the Transbay Tower construction. RocketSpace, which currently rents to 400 startups, must move by July 21.

A brochure on their website has pushed back the completion timeline slightly:

• "Proposed Construction Start": Q4 2013

It looks like the demolition permit has been issued, but the construction permit is still working its way through planning.

This tower is dope. Love the structural expression. The braces culminate quite nicely and sensibly into the spire, too.

Let's Get Ready To Rubble For 52-Story Tower To Rise

As we first reported earlier this year:

Having acquired the Transbay parcel and approved plans to build a 52-story tower with 14 floors of condos over 400,000 square feet of office space and a spire reaching 800 feet, Silicon Valley builder Jay Paul plans to break ground on 181 Fremont as soon as possible.

While many have seen the renderings, for the first time we're publicly serving up the animation for the new tower which was filmed by steelblue for the Jay Paul Company. And yes, RocketSpace will soon need to find a new home.

Permits to demolish the buildings on the parcel at 181 Fremont have been issued and the Town
Hall adjacent site upon which the 52-story tower will rise has been cordoned off.
