Australia's got some damn nice high-rises! The economy must be pretty decent "down under".

The neighbouring site has been bought and the tower redesigned. Same height (276m) but much bigger floorplates. Full details on planning app: http://urbanmelbourne.info/developme...thbank#content

If they now have a larger site to work with, that should mean that the developer can increase the setbacks from the neighboring towers. I recall that being an issue for this proposal in the past.

Supertall Queensbridge Tower Could Be Melbourne's Second Tallest

Quote:
With a steadily growing population, Melbourne has become the fastest developing city in Australia. As a result of the increasing number of Melbournites choosing to settle in the downtown area, dozens of 200+ metre buildings are either under construction, planned, or making their way through the approval process, which you can learn more about in our previous story on the topic. Developer Schiavello Group has recently submitted a development application for a new 313-metre mixed-use tower for a site situated along Southbank's Queens Bridge Street. If approved, the Queensbridge Tower would be the second tallest tower in the city after the under-construction Australia 108.

Supertall Melbourne Project Approved by State Government
Quote:
The state government of Victoria has given their approval to a 90-storey proposal in Melbourne's Southbank area, setting the stage for the construction of Australia's tallest building. Dubbed One Queensbridge, the 323-metre supertall is the brainchild of Crown Resorts and Schiavello Group, with UK-based Wilkinson Eyre mapping out their architectural vision for the property.
