It's not my thing at all...I do wonder how attendance is at this vs Comic Con and Fan-X...if the MSA can sustain three similarly-themed cons per year. I also think the lines between the three events are pretty blurry...fantasy vs sci-fi vs comic books...they're all very similar in my mind. That said, if I'm ranking the three, fantasy's the one I care least about.

I'm still a bit confused as to what this is. It's impressive, sure, but what is it? How is it different than Comic Con? Is it sort of the 'knock-off' version of that event?
I guess I don't know enough about it to get excited about it. Please educate me.

Yea, it's not as big as Comic Con, but there was a lot of talk leading up to it so I thought I would share some of it from being there opening night. FantasyCon is more of a medieval/lord of rings/games of thrones theme with Dragons as their main theme, however there was also plenty of people dressed up as Star Wars. Ghost-busters, Batman themes with game booths set up also. This is the first ever FantasyCon so who knows if this will pick up or not, but from what I can tell from being there, there was a big turn out.
FantasyCon kind of reminds me of the future Evermore theme park going in at Pleasant Grove Utah.
