No worries, Projects. RSL has always, always sucked in Texas. Always.

That, and half the team is gone (Saborio, Beckerman, Rimando, Morales, Wingert....)

They'll be fine.

Yea I'm sure RSL is fine if they can EVER catch a break. Between injuries and stupid call ups I can't even remember the last time RSL's starting XI played a full 90 minutes. So frustrating that we lose Beckerman, Rimando and Beltran for call ups to the US team were both Rimando and Beltran were benched the whole game and Beckerman came in the 89th minute. What a waste, if your not going to use our guys then give them back. With all our injuries we sure as hell could use them more then team US. How many games/points/hardware have we lost out on due to stupid call ups.
On another note RSL has no offense. Still waiting for somebody/ANYBODY besides Sabo to score for this team. Have yet to be impress with Findley who really isn't the same Findley we know back in 09. Haven't really seen him do much other then running into and taking out our own guys. Plata, while I love his speed and hustle can't seem to finish, same can be said about Findley that if this was football RSL would of have at least 9 points with all the "Field goal" shots.
Thank god Borchers is back. Need some leadership back there. Morales can't come back soon enough. I just really hope that once everybody is back and healthy we might finally see a healthy RSL starting XI, something I haven't really seen for at least a year now. Please, no more freaking injuries.

Who would've thought we'd be at the top of the table by August? This year started out scary and has turned out to be pretty damn awesome (the last 3 games aside...). I'm nervous for the Open Cup semi on Wed but somewhat confident since we finally have everybody back (is Salcedo still out?).

Yea, crazy to think that RSL during what was a rebuilding year is still at the top of the table ( even after these three weeks of going LLD. )

Here are some fun by the numbers facts about RSL.

1. score 1.65 per game
2. Goals for 38
3. Goals allowed 26
4. 12 goal difference ( best in MLS so far )
5. 26 of the 30 players on the roster have started this season for the team
6. Road goals 20 vs 18 home goals. ( RSL is scoring more on the road. )
7. Javier Morales, Olmes Garcia, Ned Grabavoy, Robbie Findley and Álvaro Saborío have each scored at least 5 goals this year so far.

I believe RSL is the deepest team in all of MLS..................however, here it comes............Real Salt Lake has been what I think is one of if not the best team in MLS since winning the cup in 2009. The issues is.........while they can have a amazing season and finish 2nd or 3rd in the west now year after year, RSL has a long record of choking during those games that matter most.

More numbers, these one's are not good news.

Home matches
Vs Redbulls 2008 Playoffs
Vs FC Dallas 2010 Playoffs
Vs Monterrey 2010-11 CCL Championship
Vs C.S. Herediano 2012-13 CCL group Stage
Vs Sounders 2012 Playoffs

5 big games with a total goals scored of........wait for it..........1 goal.
1?
Yep.

Point is during those biggest games that RSL had everything going for them and got to play at home with 20,000+ fans backing them up they have failed to win those games. RSL for me has become a "choke team".
I'm hoping that with the trades and adding new younger blood this year we will see a change and so far it looks like RSL has become a powerhouse with our forwards and midfielders attacking in wave after wave after wave. Now if our defense can get back into top form and we keep seeing raining of goals then yes, I believe 2013 could finally be a trophy year for RSL.
Their best shot is the open cup and once again RSL has everything going for them with having all these games at home. But once again they will face a big game at home where.....in the past have failed. We'll see.

Very cool - just a hobby or are you taking the pics in some kind of professional capacity?

Thanks, Moosy. It's a mix of a hobby and some freelance work I've done for RSL, Tracy Aviary and some other things.

I wish I could get out to more matches. My primary employment has made that hard at times. I used to take photos religiously at every single game from 2007-2010.

MLS Cup 2009 was awesome as can be. That Utah sports team didn't have bad luck--in fact it was a lot of luck that brought them there.

Guess I'll go ahead and add RSL choking tonight during the open cup FINALS on our very long list of championship chokes.

Welcome to Utah, were we win a PRO championship once very 40 years.....if lucky.

I hate sports.

And add 2013 MLS Cup Finals and the Salt Lake Bees 2013 championships to our losing list. Geez, what is our deal?
