San Francisco City Hall

Upper Market St (near today's Castro District)

Alamo Square (site of the famous "painted ladies")

Howard Street, South of Market neighborhood

Battery St at the Embarcadero (note body of looter, shot by soldiers enforcing martial law, lying in the street)

7th St (building on the right is the 9th District US Court of Appeals, still there and still seat of the court)

California & Hyde St, Nob Hill (the grand mansions of the railroad and silver barons all burned--you can see the metal undercarriages of multiple burned cable cars)

Grant Ave. at Broadway (today this is sort the dividing line between Chinatown and Little Italy--the steeple of St. Mary's Church, still there, can be seen in the distance)

Top of Nob Hill with the 2 remaining buildings: One of the silver barons' mansions, gutted--now the Pacific Union Club--and the Fairmont Hotel

Ferry Building Plaza at the foot of Market St.

Franklin St at Clay--Pacific Heights

Merchant St, downtown

Union Square

Palace Hotel on Market St (rebuilt and still there)
