I was recently in Kobe to celebrate New Years for my other side of the family.. I survived despite the 30-40 F weather..

Abandoned Shotengai (The area breathed its last breath after suffering from the pandemic). I didn't take photos, but further down there's a newly renovated Shotengai. There's an obsession with American and British apparel from the 60s - 90s.
I was in Japan during the 2024 Noto Earthquake. Kobe and Osaka weren't damaged for all I know. Our building only swayed. Earthquakes are common here so it was a bit of a culture shock to see people unfazed.

Fish Products and almost everything there are not impacted by inflation. Fish isn't a great example as its one of their biggest exports, but even meat and chicken are way less than America.
Usually lined by cherry blossoms but it was winter.
