People actually get paid to design this ugly shit? This is awful looking. At lease a parking lots is being filled, but good LORD its ugly. What happened to solid glass or brick facades? Less is more. I guess they're trying to hard to design something funky? It just looks cheap...

It looks like a hospital circa 1960. Don't even get me started on the Purple color on the Moxy. It just needs window air conditioning units and the look would be complete.

Maybe they can put a small surface parking lot in front of the building to complete the aesthetic

195 Thirteenth

The Midtown Alliance has a small rendering up of the tower and I like it. Note that the deck is completely hidden behind residential.

Is this under construction? There are so many projects going on that I wasn't even aware of this. A good problem to have.

No but they have begun the permitting process. This will be next door to Yoo on the Park.

CODA is going

Demolition of the old printing building and SunTrust branch looks finished at 4th and W.Peachtree. Active earth movers around the Crum & Forster building.

The crane is up at Peachtree & 3rd and the first piers are in place. I'm am excited about both of these!

Some additional Emerson renderings...

I'm not sure if its good or bad but the design is looking less avant-garde with each new rendering.

I think this is the first view of the southern side of the building which I've been curious about.

I agree but it's still (or will be) a stunning structure.

The view is the eastern elevation facing Peachtree. The southern side is shown in the 1st and 2nd picture. The 3rd picture, showing the west side, is interesting. I wonder what's below the wall where the waterfall drops down.

You're right. I was thinking of the wrong side of Peachtree. I was referring to the side of the tower that appears to be "flat" (the northern side). None of the previous renderings have shown the building from this perspective.

Selig Enterprises plans $400 million Midtown mixed-use project

http://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/n...own-mixed.html

Quote:
Atlanta real estate company Selig Enterprises Inc. is proposing a $400 million development, anchored by a 32-story tower, along West Peachtree Street — the formerly overlooked Midtown corridor now booming with new projects.

Selig's plans for 1105 West Peachtree St. include 645,000 square feet of office space, 80 residential units, a 150-key boutique hotel, and street-level retail.

The project could break ground by mid-2017, depending on discussions with possible lead tenants, Selig development executives said. It would need to be roughly 50-percent pre-leased.

Now that is a proper urban mixed-use project!

1105 West Peachtree

One minor criticism....

If you're going to make 12th street the retail street instead of West Peachtree, why put a curb cut right in the middle of it?

Per the article, they could start as soon as the middle of next year IF they can lease 50% of the office space. Maybe some of these law firms are in the market for some fancy new digs.

I'd imagine Tech companies will be interested in the space.

1105 West Peachtree

The article in the ABC includes an of several other properties owned by Selig where they could build projects in the future.

As the developer of 12th and Midtown, doesn't Selig also own the block at Peachtree/12th/Juniper/13th?
