Have you also learned that secret from the river; that there is no such thing as time? That the river is everywhere at the same time, at the source and at the mouth, at the waterfall, at the ferry, at the current, in the ocean and in the mountains.-Hermann Hesse

i like this one that you took that shows the rapid transformation of the west end of downtown. the small 3-story building in the middle of this picture and the surface lot next to it is another prime spot for a much larger future development.

Thanks Boisebro. I agree about that WaFd. It's not historic, so it's disposable.
I'm hoping the quarter block parking lot behind the Idanha becomes a skinny tower someday.

Accidental damage notwithstanding, the facade on this one looks rather promising.

Why was I under the impression the height had been reduced to 290feet and 26fl?

I saw the thread title and I thought maybe they had stayed with the original height

no, it'll be second, about 40 feet shorter than the Zion Bank building.

but there's hope that Boise could get a new tallest soon, for a number of reasons:

1 - Boise has one of the lowest office vacancy rates, and there's a demand for class-A space downtown. there are currently no proposals for a new office building, so a savvy developer might see the opportunity to fulfill the need.

2 - even though there are two new hotels under construction or about to break ground, hotel vacancy rates downtown are still very low. additionally, the convention center would like to have a single 400+ room hotel constructed near the facility to accommodate larger groups; currently, there aren't any hotels downtown at that size, but a 400-room hotel could end up being tall enough to surpass the Zion.

3 - there have been rumors about a 34-40 floor residential tower being built on 11th and Front street. GGLO owns the property.

looks like about 7 floors to go. i'm liking the glass so far.

it's really too bad this isn't 10 floors taller.
