My Day Off - Chicago - Lincoln Park, Lakeview, Roscoe Village, the Perfect Hotdog

I decided to take a day for myself. I started the day on a quest for the perfect hot dog. I have heard that Hot Dougs in Roscoe Village is the place to go. So I started walking. These are my pictures, this is my story.

Leaving Lincoln Park

There is a lot of funny housing in LP. I always get stuck taking photos of different Housing.

I typically like simple buildings

Up Lincoln Ave we go...

Passing Mr Tin Man

Enter Lakeview

Lincoln and Belmont
I like this building. It treats the corner very well. A good example of a modern flatiron building.

Getting Hungry

Roscoe Village - its an upscale part of the city with a lot of boutiques, restaurants in a leasant pedestrian environment.

The streets are really clean here

Typical residential character

Some crappy modern

Typical street frontage

I have arrived. California and Roscoe

Its 10:30 in the morning and there is a line out the door.

Bacon Sausage

Elk Sausage

The spread with Duck Fat Fries

After stuffing myself with sausage and duck fat fries, I made my way over to the Belmont Red Line Station via neighborhood streets.

One of many converted churches into residential use

Some more obscure stuff

A little study I did below the Metra tracks

Crowded in

I took the Red Line to Roosevelt and went to the Field Museum to see the Map exhibit, which is an amazing exhibit.

OMP - Reminds me of a mini Burj Dubai

That funny sculpture in Grant Park

OMP

At the field museum

Aquarium Nearby

The wonderful Interior

Sue

Trump Rising from the Southside

It was an extremeley Beautiful Day

Outstanding. Roscoe Village is one of my favorite Chicago 'hoods. I always love having brunch at Victory's Banner.

Nice photos. Being on a laptop though, they're a bit big for my screen (plenty of left & right scrolling...the Belmont/Lincoln one was *enormous*). I certainly appreciate the effort in taking & posting the photos though!

Spectacular photo's. However, the best hotdog stand in all of Chicago is at Wrightwood and Clark, the 'Wieners Circle'. When I'm in Chicago I never miss it.

Wonderful photos! I love your eye for detail and the way you work with skies.

I'll be in Chicago next week (22nd) again, and I'm hoping for good walkabout weather. It never gets old; there's always something new, or at least something I hadn't noticed before.

There will be snow on the ground and an arctic chill in the air. Wear lots & lots & lots of layers.
