Intergraph is presenting to the City of Madison Planning Department a proposal for 1,300 residential units. From the AL.com article:
[QUOTE]Intergraph has proposed building nearly 1,300 residential units as part of a plan to build a "live, work, play destination" to its 227-acre campus next to its new headquarters in Madison. The residential units consist of apartment complexes, single-family detached houses, and loft apartments over commercial space. The proposal, which seeks rezoning approval on Thursday from the Madison Planning Commission, also includes about 30 acres of open spaces for parks and greenways.[QUOTE]

It is significant that 30 acres of park land is included in their proposal. Also in the pictures it shows that in the Breland owned portion of Town Madison which is along Zierdt Rd., there is a "Mixed Use" portion closest to Zierdt, but the "Regional Retail Center" will be just to the west of that.
The Sembler Companies which is handling the leasing for the retail portion has said that they will be making announcements about the anchors after the U.S. Dept. of Transportation has given its approval for the I-565/Town Madison Parkway interchange. They expect this approval this summer and will make public who they have signed up for the project.
Maybe now that Intergraph is making headway with their portion of Town Madison, the Breland part won't be far behind. One caveat is that the widening of Zierdt Rd. won't be completed until 2017 at best.
