Some updates, since the last post is from Oct 2014. A lot has happened since then.

No official word from the airline yet, but Air China is supposedly starting YUL in September, with a tag on to HAV. 3 weekly B77W.

http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.c...e-canada-cuba/

http://centreforaviation.com/analysi...-states-203822

If this comes to be, then it means Hainan cannot fly PEK-YUL, as China has a one route/one airline policy for its carriers.

SkyGreece is starting one weekly service to ATH next week aboard a 274-seat B763.

TS is starting service to Budapest on June 17. One weekly service aboard A332 until October 7.

Also, AC is resuming YUL-MEX as of June 5 on a seasonal basis.

AC994 YUL-MEX 0755-1230 2456 319
AC995 MEX-YUL 1320-1925 2456 319

LH is adding one rotation to its FRA-YUL service which it resumed last year. going from 5x weekly to 6x weekly.

BTW, 2015 Q1 passenger numbers are out, and YUL edged out YYC so far in the first quarter of the year. If this trend continues, YUL will regain 3rd spot in the country.

Also, rumors of Icelandair starting YUL. No official word from the airline yet. They announced resumption of service to Chicago earlier this week with no mention of YUL.

And last but not least, for the dreamliner fans out there, BA, RJ and AT are now operating the B787 on their flights to YUL.

I flew the BA 787 recently. The economy plus is a modest added fee from economy steerage and worth every penny in my opinion. Great quiet plane with an intimate cabin, only downside is you have to deal with heathrow. Wouldn't want to fly it in economy though, those seats look really cramped.

It's official. Air China to begin YUL on Sept 29, 2015.

CA879 PEK1300 – 1350YUL 77W 257
CA880 YUL1620 – 1800+1PEK 77W 257

No word yet about the tag on service to HAV. Air China hasn't secured 5th freedom rights yet, so it might have to do with that.

For those of you interested in the current events and news related to YUL and the city's airport scene, check out a new sub-forum on mtlurb. It's setup specially to have an airport section.

The site is working fine. I've been on there the last 3 days. Could be the problem is on your end.

I can also confirm the site is up and running.

Are you still having trouble, Cartouche?

No, it came back thanks. I was in Paris, don't know if it has anything to do with the blackout.

Another feed into Montreal - this time Hamilton.
Maybe to feed Euro flights, maybe to fight off the new low cost companies coming who will fly to Atlantic Canada.

Interesting article from the gazette.

Airport paying out 100 million /year in fees to various levels of government. No wonder things are so expensive.

I always though YUL was an intrnational gateway. In the 1960s, most of the Europe-bound flights left from YUL, and you had loads of foreign airlines.

In Vancouver, at YVR, we only have 4 (four) European gateways - but a goodly number of Asian and Oceania (AUS. and NZ) destinations, but nothing like Montreal, all round

Indeed, international traffic outside the US at YUL represents more than 38% of all passenger traffic.
