I know it's already been posted, but I love the millenium bridge in London (my pictures).

Ignore the people in this picture. I don't know who they are, they just got in the way of the picture and I didn't realize it until later in the day

And a couple of cool pedestrian bridges across the 60 in Phoenix. These are from google maps (obviously), but I ride my bike across them pretty regularly, I'll get some real pictures next time.

College and the 60

Country Club and the 60. My fiance and I call this the DNA bridge

Denver's 16th Street Pedestrian Mall has been extended over the last decade, past Union Station, over the Consolidated Mainline Railroad tracks to the Central Platte Valley (with Millennium Bridge). Then over the South Platte River (with the Platte River Bridge) and finally over I-25 to the Highlands neighborhood (with the The Highland Bridge). This series of three pedestrian bridges all contribute significantly to the architecture and connectivity of the area:

I don't currently have my own pics available to post, but the Rattlesnake Bridge in Tucson is pretty cool. Here is a website with some pics ( I will post a quick link instead of posting this fellow's pics)

The Three Countries Bridge seems like a pretty good deal at $10m euros.

Three pedestrian bridges link downtown Denver, Colorado with the Highland neighborhood. This photo was taken from the east end of the Highland Bridge, spanning I-25. In the mid-ground is the Platte River Bridge and Commons Park, and in the background is the Denver Millennium Bridge which crosses the railroad tracks and empties onto the 16th Street Mall.

more photos of the Denver Millennium Bridge...

[edit] and now I see I've been scooped by Snyderbock.

I'm not sure if these count as cool bridges, but I thought it was a cool lifestyle that pedestrian bridges are necessarily a part of. South of Bangkok, right on the coast of the Gulf of Siam is a community called Bang Khuntein. There are no roads for automobiles in Bang Khuntien, everything is moved by boat along the canals or along the pedestrian paths. The bridges aren't particularly ornate, but I think they count as cool anyway because they are the only way to move through the area without a boat. At some of the canal intersections there is a bridge across each of the 4 directions, like crosswalks at a road intersection. (My pictures)

Ok, the last one has nothing to do with pedestrian bridges, I just found it amusing that they left the old power poles there when they replaced them

In Salt Lake, the Eccles Olympic legacy bridge connects student housing and the Fort Douglas area to the rest of the U of Utah campus. I've always thought it was pretty neat, but after seeing the rest of the stuff you guys have posted, its not that outstanding looking in comparison. Here it is anyway:

This bridge is awesome. The best part is crossing the state line into Iowa. I called friends, asking 'Hey guess where I'm at?'

Here’s another loopy bridge for China (see our earlier story about NL Architects’ concept), this time a foot bridge for Xinjin in the Sichuan province by New York studio WXY Architecture.

vancouver lacks grand pedestrian bridges - we have some smaller ones that are off to the side or in parks kinda stuff...

like this one at the olympic village
