I've always wondered why Boston hasn't generally put less emphasis on the downtown financial district as much as the Copley Square/Prudential area as far as tall buildings. It would seem to me that with the Logan Airport height limits, building up a "midtown" of sorts around the Hancock, the Pru and this new tower would allow for greater heights, more continuity in the skyline, and even potential to cover up more of the Mass Pike.
Perhaps this building will begin to set a new precedent
