HANNOVER, Germany

Hannover is located 180 miles west of Berlin and has 500,000 inhabitants. Before I moved to Berlin, I have lived here many years. Now I was after a long time again to guest in Hannover.

What a fantastic thread! Hanover seems to have a nice balance of being both cosmopolitan and cozy, with some great Modernist and contemporary architecture to boot.

Great thread. I lived in Hannover for two months in the summer of 1966 (I had a summer job at the Stadthalle). I loved it. It has changed considerably.

Nice. The people in the images look extraordinarily familar to me. The way people hold their cigarettes, the old women drinking beer. The looks on peoples faces. Very interesting.

Hannover is also the capital of lower saxony , and it have wonderful parks like the Herrenhäuser Gärten (Herrenhausen Gardens ) or the Maschsee and surroundings. In the rest of Germany Hannover is credited being the area where people speak exact German and the image is ,that Hannover is a boring or even faceless is. Did you know that the most monarch families in Europe are close related to the house Hannover or even founded by them like the Windsors and many others ...

Great variety of shots about Hannover! Thanks for showing, zeitgeist.

I´ve liked what you´ve shown about Hannover. It looks a very dynamic city.

Congrats and greetings from Madrid, Spain.

Remember it well. When I lived there, the Strassenbahn ran all the way from the Banhof to the front door of the Stadthalle, where I worked. They seem to have replaced a lot of their light rail with buses.
