It's close enough. I noticed that Chase Plaza is actually on higher land than WTC, so even if Chase was closer to the camera, it'd still be shorter. I didn't want to get terribly specific so I just drew a bar.

Using these pictures taken back on 5/24/11 for reference. The splices are the points where the 26.8' vertical steel connects to 26.8' vertical steel. The splics stick up a good 4' above the top horizontal steel floor. The steel is bolted and welded at these points.

It's the joint between two column pieces.

too small? 1=1776' 2=1350' 3=1170' 4= 977' To short? Who would be crying we need to build taller if the twins were still standing today.
Taller isn't better. Just Look at the ESB it is 80 Yrs old 1250'.

It will be a long time before we see a building built over 1800' in NYC or anywhere in the USA! We don't play the I am taller then you so I am better then you game like some other countries do.

A great video! THat's why I don't get why all the crazy people who want the original towers built, hate this building. It makes no sense, since so much of the building has elements of the original twin towers in it. Everytime I see that view from the statue of liberty with the new wtc towers in it, it just looks amazing! That beacon that will go on top, I think it will really be amazing at night. I think once this building is completed, it will help the others get built. It's such an amazing project.

In reality, the new wtc will be taller than it was before. Wtc 1 is taller, wtc 2 is a few feet shorter, but it looks like that could come up(obviously we know about that debate and I'm not going to start it here), wtc 3 and 4 are much taller than the old wtc 3 and 4. So I love it. I think once it's done, millions will be proud of it and love it as well. You're always going to have a few that will hate it and still be talking about bringing the originals back. But that's just life. I was looking at some old articles about the 8 finalist for the new wtc buildings. All I can say is thank God they waited, took their time, and did it right! That's the most important thing.

sure asia, and dubai have taller buildings then one world trade , but one world trade will be the busiest building and the other supertalls have no where underground infrastructure as this building.... pics can't justify although they are now as this beast is climbing, to see it in person is amazing really massive then pics can justify......

The Twins aren't coming back. Deal with it. This is getting so old.

That steel went up pretty quick...thanks for the nice weather these past few days hopefully the next few floors move quick.

Where do people think we will be at for 9/11/11, I am thinking around the 80th floor?

As far as I know, the plan is for it to be in the 80s on 9-11-11.
