Not to be mean but..

... Why is China building all these supertalls? It is for the same reason Dubai did the Burj Khafila or is it for the population? I asked because it's not just Hong Kong and Shanghai getting these tall buildings but other cities like Guangzhou and Shenzhen that are rising up.

With most of China's population living in poverty i doubt these supertalls are built to accommodate those who have the college degrees to work for companies looking for class A office space. Its all built for speculation.

There is some truth to the fact that there is FAR more demand for building supertalls in China than in Dubai, but I do agree with SoNY... speculation is a huge factor, and I think there are signs that it's starting to catch up with China.

China's economy has completely lost control of all free market fundementals (like supply and demand). Most of these buildings are pure speculation, and will sit empty 20 years from now because no one will be able to afford the space inside them. There is recent evidence the China bubble may be collapsing, if it does I expect many of these projects will be shelved. Same goes for South Korea.

I hope this one doesnt hit any more delays cause this building is so sleek and If it looks anything like its renderings then I cant wait for it to be finished. I just hope this one moves pretty fast too. Is this a mixed use of hotel, condos and office or just office?

2165 Feet! Sounds like Shenzhen is trying to out do Shanghai! Hopefully they will make some progress unlike the China 117 Tower.

Actually, China 117 is at a similar stage of construction as Pingan.
