i dig the updated silver color instead of the gold, i don't think its necessarily more appealing than 1wtc. its odd zigzags and tapering crown really devalues the over appeal in my humble opinion.
One of the best looking Skyscrapers in the world when built
If the renders are close to fruition - then this building will be one of the best Skyscrapers in the world - its height and propertions will look superb - both in night and day. The west needs to learn that Skyscrapers are a work of art ironically the west design the best looking skyscrapers which are often found in the Middle East & China!
So far this comes in my top 5 best looking buildings - keep em comming!
just beautiful. looks like or should i say will look like a buck rogers rocketship. not to mention, that is what a real spire is supposed to be. hmm, this one could be my fav supertall.

I have to agree with you on top 5, but ST still looks to be my favorite, backed up by Goldin Finance, then this, then the duo they have going on in S. Korea

Several major property projects in Shenzhen - including what will be the city's highest building - have been ordered to suspend construction after CCTV reported that concrete used by some local developers was made from cheap, untreated sea sand.[...]
How does stuff like this happen this late in the development process?
So... now what? Are they gonna somehow drill tiny holes and take test samples of the core to see when/if construction can proceed? How does this stuff work?
