They've been moving like crazy this past week. I asked one of the guys working there and he said they have a deadline to be at digging depth by October 1st.

If my math is right they should be at grade for next spring.

same thing for us with Parcel YY in saskatoon.....

i bet if all of us had shovels on this forum and dug it ourselves we would have both projects dug out by now.... both companies missed the boom few years back...imagine if they were completed by 2014-2015. they would anchor many other future projects to be proposed or to be completed by now too.

i feel ya regina guys...

Well, on the bright side, they might be finished in time for the next boom.

I suspect there are a few words missing from this sentance that would give it meaning.

Capital Pointe hasn't posted any picture updates on any of their social media channels for a few months now. Someone should go take some pictures of the progress since it seems that they have been doing a lot of work on the southern half of the site which can not be seen from the construction came since it is obscured by the trailers.

Edit: It seems they posted a new picture of the progress on Instagram today: https://www.instagram.com/p/BJRERG4h...capital_pointe

October's coming rather quickly. Based on the rate they're going, they'll be no where near the bottom of a 5 storey hole in 2 months time.

I checked them. The hole is 1 storey out of 5. Just saying. I'd like to see this thing move along already.

I got a response from Capital Pointe regarding the hotel (finally) and the email said the hotel portion remains as a Hilton branded hotel. Whether that means it is still going to be a Hilton Garden Inn or if it might go the direction of a Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand or Embassy Suites, Hampton, Homewood Suites or Home2 Suites by Hilton, I am not sure.

I have to agree. I check the Webcam almost daily and there is so little progress downward. I would give them maybe 1.5 down though.

it looks like they are just moving the dirt around. how many different ramps has the project had already? 4?

it seems like all they are doing is moving the access ramps around.

Any idea where they would put the crane?

I don't think it will be in the foot print of the building because they don't have enough space to dig out all five floors necessary to build the crane foundation. Which leaves the alley? or the street?

Likely had to move a few times to do the bracing work behind the ramps as they dig down? Just a guess?

I stopped by the office recently though and they said they were about 20' down and that rain is actually worse than snow would be at this point, since as soon as it rains too much the trucks can't really use the earth ramp to get out of the pit.

Also a new website with more/new information is supposed to be launched in Sept.
