I live a few blocks from there. walk through that park all the time. Senior's home in the background is now a large condo development but otherwise not much change. brings back lots of memories to see that crew again though!

I don't live too far from there too. On the other side of Gateway but a casual walk for me.

Tonight I asked people on Jasper Ave if I could take their picture. A few said OK....

These are great and a nice way to see Edmonton through its people. They are all so different and my mind is wondering about the stories behind each of these people. The mystery of photography.

Would have been neat if one of your random subjects happened to be Steven Tallarico!

Fantastic Idea.

Reminds me of what New York photographer Bill Cunningham does with fashion on the streets of NYC.

Shades of grey wherever I go
The more I find out the less that I know
Black and white is how it should be
But shades of grey are the colors I see
It always amazes me how much more depth an image gains by converting to black&white. It doesn't seem logical that a picture gains character by removing information.

Love the images, Bulliver!

Awesome photos everyone!

Been away for a few weeks, taking a 4600 km drive across much of Canada and a small part of the US. Shot this on my phone as we left the city on July 4, of the new Yellowhead/Henday East interchange, as smoke rolled into the city:

Another massive interchange. As much as I think we overbuild a lot of our road infrastructure, I do have to say I find these are giving Edmonton much more of a big-city feel when you drive in (or out).

Those new 500kV transmission towers are pretty massive too - they dwarf the 240 kV ones that have been there for decades.

Took some iPhone photos from the 11th floor of the new U of A ICE (Innovation Centre for Engineering) building. Pics aren't great, but the views the people in those offices will have are incredible.

too bad the Innovation Centre for Engineering didn't trademark the use of the ICE acronym as a descriptor for real estate...
