Extra service from Transit centres at West Edmonton Mall (Route 1), Eaux Claires/Northgate (Route 9), Mill Woods (Route 8), Westmount (Route 5) and Southgate (Route 9) will start at approximately 8pm to provide service before the fireworks. Following the fireworks, buses will depart from the Downtown, Southgate and Coliseum areas.

Routes 9 and 52 will be on detour during the closure of Walterdale Hill, Queen Elizabeth Park Road and the High Level Bridge. Detour routing can be found at TakeETS.com.

We hit up Il Pasticcio for dinner, then the Chinatown Night Market on 96 Street and The Artworks. Unfortunately we were back at home by 930 as our little one was done for the day. Although he kept saying he wanted to see the 'fire works' minutes before shutting his eyes and falling asleep.

We celebrated Canada Day with a good old fashioned chimney demolition at my rental property, followed by a spectacular feast of local meats and produce procured from our favourite butcher and the farmers' market in the Park and accompanied with plentiful drink and company of good friends. Great weekend.

Our Canada Day was spent exploring the Scandinavian Trail. Learning about the heritage and history of some of the early settlers to western Canada seemed to be a very Canadian thing to do.

Took a group of cyclist into YEG from St Albert.(they have never been on the trail system before) Down to Lendrum to watch a bike race, then onto the valley trail system and a stop at Little Brick for a beer before heading back up to St Albert.

Watched St Albert's fireworks from the patio of the Vinyl Rock Cafe.
