^I'm with you on the single family homes on St. Charles Street. It was the perfect place to built 6-8 story buildings. The homes are reasonably nice for new houses, but they have no privacy whatsoever! I would have instead put the single family homes where Le Victoria condos are being built, off Tiffin Road behind Chambly Academy and the golf course. I would have left higher density on Tiffin Road of course. I really do not like that the new street "Docteur Chévrier", has no sidewalks whatsoever. It is a really small street, and all of the buildings on it are 4 stories and taller. And all of the surrounding area has sidewalks, and is well served by transit (2 and 54 pass right down Tiffin, 3,4,9,21,etc travel along Taschereau which is one block away).
I am not a fan of the current St. Lambert administration of Philippe Brunet. They run surpluses but they want to borrow money and keep a cash reserve, which seems pointless. They seem to like spending their money on useless things. The elevated crosswalks/speedbumps on Desaulniers and Victoria, tacky signs, and the odd "pet project" of the mayor. Victoria is a lot worse since they removed the traffic lights and put in those speedbump intersections. Nobody knows what they're doing... They also have really stupid regulations. They make every home in St. Lambert get this giant blue bin, but want it somehow magically hidden from the road...
There are plans for a Habitations Trigone condo project on the corner of Victoria and Grand Trunk. The city forced the expropriation of the business there though. It will be a building inspired by TOD according to the administration. You have probably also head about the plans for an 8 story condo building on Riverside between Argyle and Lorne. The demolition permit has been issued, although I think the final plans for the condos are still being tweaked to meet the city's needs (they want it set back from the road...

No idea what they are planning for the old Italglass factory on St-Georges. I remember reading about it in the St. Lambert Journal a while ago, which sadly has no website (!). They want to develop it, but I haven't heard too much. I'm not sure if it is zoned for 6-8 story buildings either.
