THis is one of two mega-hospital projects in Montreal. The other one is the MUHC (McGill University Hospital Centre) this one here is the CHUM (Centre Hospitalier Universite Montreal). Originally 18 floors, its been consistently cut down by NIMBYS (as if 3 floors makes a damn difference) to now 15 floors. There have been many design changes and the whole process has been taking years and years as it gets tangled into Quebec's hopeless bureaucracy. Nevertheless its a 1,8 BILLION dollar investment and will see the construction of the following buildings.

The whole project, including the current CHUM structure on the far right.

AND here are some NEW renderings presented by the government recently:

MONTREAL | Centre Hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal 20 Floors U/C

After almost 15 years of changes, controversy, hundreds of millions of lost money, this project is finally under construction.

This will become the most modern hospital in Canada and one of the most modern in the world, featuring cutting-edge technology, spacious rooms for patients and optimized emergency rooms.

A total Investment of nearly 3 Billion dollars.
