It seems to rain almost every time the parade is held, but there were no clouds in sight in this year’s parade, so turnout was pretty good.
The parade has been heavily commercialized over the years, with local corporations like Old Navy, Visa, PG&E, and Wells Fargo being some of the mainstays, together with Bank of America, Cathay Pacific, McDonald’s, Coca Cola, AT&T, Samsung, Hyundai, Ford, Toyota, and Harrah’s. The signature sponsor of the festival and parade is Southwest Airlines.
Plenty of local high school and university bands are also part of the parade…
