The building that is under construction in the photos is at 1200 Travis and is now used by HPD. It was finished in 1967, so this series is probably from 1966.

Sorry, I believe it's Conoco I, or whichever is nearly complete. The lighting is red and blue and is on the Eastern facade of the building

The rush is on for EB-5 visas, which should fuel a few more condo starts in Houston:

HBJ's article on the Randall Davis property says the unit count will be 85 to 100; that Davis will sell off 45,000 sf of the property he acquired in Westcreek to other developers; and that his building will start construction in the middle of next year.

And now there's a name for the mystery development at the northwest crook between I-45 and I-59: The Hamilton. Still nothing rendered (nothing gained). Thanks to Swamplot for this one, which has aroused curiosity on HAIF. It's low-income housing, which may explain some of the secrecy.

The Hamilton Apartments Are Going Up on a Freeway-Wrapped Corner in Downtown’s Far Southeast

And this one is on the way. Groundbreaking on Oct. 6 for Mid-Main. It's been quite a day for announcements today:

Energy Corridor Light Show at Energy Center 3

Filmed this just a while ago. This is standing east across Eldridge Parkway from ConocoPhillips' new Energy Center 3 building. Nice addition to not only the building but to the Energy Corridor. I wonder if the other two buildings will have something similar?

thanks for the video! in one of the descriptions for the complex i seem to recall that building III was the only one they mentioned having an "illuminated lantern". hopefully the others do too though, it could make for a cool vibe in the area. so no screens facing west?

I didn't even think to check, but I will take a look tonight to see if they installed one of these "lanterns" on the west side of the building (unless somebody else already knows the answer). I think that would look nice.

An added extra detail about the Woodlands Hotel and Conference Center; it's losing some hotel rooms but gaining a multi-family neighbor. No details on what it looks like yet.

Mystery Houston Construction Project will Blow You Away

I'm sure we've all been puzzled by this structure on I-10 between Bunker Hill and Blalock. This caught me off guard the first time I saw this and it always bothered me as to what it's purpose is. This article (sort of) explains what is going on.

The sky's the limit: Houston's high-rise craze moves into the suburbs with new towers

A good article from CultureMap Houston, touching on the high-rise trend in Houston and how they are beginning to spread into the "suburbs", including the Woodlands and Pearland (yes, Pearland).
