Minecraft Phoenix Nerdiness

I'm creating downtown Phoenix in Minecraft - Creative Mode (Xbox 360). Trying to do this to scale, I'll be running West to East from S 7th Ave all the way to S 7th St. North to South, from Roosevelt St to just south of Chase Field. Logistically it allows for four even square blocks that can fit in the Minecraft world (for you nerds). Started Chase Tower. Haven't finished the landscaping yet or the entrance, but it's a start.

As much as it can be. It looks off from this angle in terms of the block it takes up. Basically each block represents roughly 6 feet. Since Chase is 483ft, that made for 80 blocks for the height. I think Chase Field will be my biggest challenge. That and the floating diaphragm.

Thanks, Leo. I'll be adding additional photos as I move along. Consider them 'construction' photos, LOL.

Wow that first pic is impressive. I can't imagine having the patience for something like that.

It's not that bad if you're into gaming and into buildings. I usually throw my laptop on Netflix and have something going while I do it so I don't get hypnotized by the Minecraft music.

Moving onto the US Bank tower block next.

I don't think ever being built a super tallest tower. They won't let do it. Due to Sky Harbor. Because FAA won't allow it. Because it was height restrictions.

US Bank Tower is going up, no permits or cranes needed.

We're getting there. The base is a little trickier.

Which to me is complete BS. A few weeks ago I flew to Chicago and I looked out the window and could practically touch the damn Willis Tower. If the FAA allows that kinda height in Chicago they shouldn't have issue here.

Not to mention planes fly over ASU Stadium and Chase Field all the time.

I don't understand this "minecraft" thing.

I've seen youtube vidoes of it and all sorts of references, is it some sort of archaic video game?

Google is your friend.

I'm looking forward to seeing 44 Monroe. It may be tricky with all the balconies.

Simply put, it's a randomly generated world (built in blocks), in which you can mine for materials to build other things and/or destroy.

Not very exciting in terms of action, but if you're creative and have lots of nerdy time on your hands, this game is for you.

Yeah, some of these buildings are gonna be a bitch. I just completed Wells Fargo and it's base. The Phoenix City Hall building just West of it on the same lot is gonna be interesting. That's coming next.
