I like it. Hard to tell a real tendency as I can see many ties.

This is a view from the Marriott Hotel. I shiver at the thought of this same view prior to the existence of the 1250. Also, just imagine the pathetic views of urban decline guests at that (4 star) enjoyed throughout its history. To the south: the rail yards and derelict industries of Griffintown. To the north-west: a sea of parking lots along the city's premier business artery, to the east: empty lots, Central Station and Place Bonaventure. Lovely.

1000 is my favourite office tower in Canada, but Tour de la Bourse isn't far behind.

I voted for the Tour CIBC as well.
Neat Video: http://vimeo.com/thenomads/cibc

It has the best street presence of any skyscraper in Montreal, with a nice lobby and large windows ( The others are all kind of closed from the street for various reasons.).The Tour CIBC also has the classic 1960s skyscraper look. Nice sleek minimalist design.

My number 2 would probably be 1250 René-Lévesque, followed by the Tour de la Bourse, PVM and finally 1000 de la Gauchetière.

Can't believe the 1000 is winning this, it's dead last in my book.
CIBC for me, for reasons given above. Tie between la tour de la bourse and PVM for second place.

It's not winning anything really. So far 75% of voters voted against it.

And with good reason. I hate le 1000. Like, fuck that thing.

Tour CIBC for me. It just feels like something a mature big city like Montreal would have. A city like Edmonton wouldn't have gotten something that imposing in the '60s.

I prefer PVM, but CIBC tower would be second for me.

I thought I'd be the only one voting for the CIBC. I love classic designs (international style) plus the fact that the tower is thin.

Maybe it looks better in photos than in person? To me it looks like the best office tower in Canada.

I'd hate it less if it were positioned where say pvm is right now. It would actually look like the city's tallest for a change.

I also voted for CIBC. It's a simple yet elegant design and it aged really well (better than PVM). Plus, it looks like the 2nd tallest from street level because it's a thin tower.

PVM is a classic. I can't believe it is losing. Here she is, in all her glory.

It's very nice as filler, but something that devoid of features doesn't really work as a landmark. The same with the CIBC tower.
