Quick pick I took to show relative size compared to the WTC complex, 125 greenwich, 50 West and 111 Murray have suck amazing glass, they look very classy and large up close in person.

that exposed concrete is so terrible. I wonder how designs like this make it in NYC sometimes. Especially a building that's fairly prominent

^^^ If not for the concrete, it would be a decent building. A bit bland, but nothing to hate on.

That exposed concrete makes it a freakin eyesore, though. They need to cover it with some nice white paneling. That would do wonders for the aesthetics....

I hope thats sarcasm lmao. This is such an iconic building. But this usually happens when a tower tops out, all of a sudden everyone hates it. Then in a year when its had time to settle everyone likes it again.

what makes this building iconic? it's a glass tower with two concrete sidewalks going up the middle. I'm amazed that any architect would actually think this looks good.

I wonder how much of this mess can be attributed to the low standards of fabrication in NYC. I like bare concrete, but construction workers in this city can't pour a decent facing wall to save their lives. Discoloration between pours, mineral and rust streaks, burrs, etc. etc.

Anyone who has lived in this city long enough realizes that nothing is ever polished here - just completed to an approximate standard and left to collect dust.

Not iconic. It's an insult to actual icons like the empire state building and 111W57th.

This is the problem with throwing words around like nothing, it devalues their meaning.

This building is NOT an icon.

You gotta love that video of vinoly. It shows you where his mind is. Speculation, developers, etc. He's just a tool. A Gene Kaufman with a shinier name.
