hi Swede, yes more blandness at Hauptbahnhof, someone claimed from the Berlin senate that it was great architecture!

Which S-Bahn station? Baumschulenweg or Ostkreuz?

^Rounded corners, eh? could work out nice, or could mean just more dead space with shrubs giving the place a "women won't dare walk here after dark"-vibe. At Prenzlauer Bogen it seems unmotivated, while at Alexander Parkside it's probably gonna look/feel pretty sweet the way the building is making room for the trams

Not uncommon that. He should come see the areas built of c:a 1995 in Stockholm, it's all bland semi-urban stuff

Baumschulenweg and Adlershof are being rebuilt on the Gorlitzer railway line. Schoneweide has already been rebuilt!

Prenzlauer bogen I think looks good, when you see it from the front!

Another hotel a 240 bed 3 star Holiday inn hotel is planned for late 2012.

i live in berlin now, and i can honestly say that i miss tall buildings a great deal around here. but there are many construction sites, and if you wish to see a skyline you can always go to frankfurt and hamburg and enjoy it. i can remember visiting hamburg for the shallow reason of shopping for shoes, but what i saw there is truly beautiful architecture, and tall buildings which are a rare sight in berlin. love it!

That's quite tall for Berlin.

And I like the office building near Alexanderplatz. Somewhat similar to the below building in Victoria, Canada:

More tall buildings would be nice (if built right by big rail hubs), but even the lowrises in Berlin knock almost everything built up here out of the water.
