Chicago the first weekend of May 2012. My partner flew us up for our tenth anniversary so we could celebrate with our friends who have loved and supported us for this past decade. Didn’t take a billion pictures….was too busy enjoying this city…our home and friends.

thanks for showing MetraMarket. We've waited a long time for some thing like this, longer still just trying to get the thing open. Nice addition to the city and it's nice to see the crowds. Hope if continues to do well and grow. Unfortunately our neighbors to the north, Milwaukee, do better than we do with their Public Market.
However, maybe in time and more Ogilvie space, this place will exceed it.
The shots of Clark Street in Lakeview towards the end of the post remind me once again how much that street needs a makeover. I've commented before about the need for sidewalk expansion (and tree planting) and my opinion still hasn't changed.

^ What's really needed is a redevelopment of that god-awful Baskin Robins/Dunkin donuts site on the NW corner of Clark and Belmont. Actually, with this being such a prime area with so much foot traffic, I am surprised that there are any parking/vacant lots in this area, but there are a couple.
How could it not have made financial sense to the owner of that lot not to have gone vertical by now?

You are a good photographer. Your sense of scale is correct. Sometimes all we see are pics looking up at a building in close up. You give us a perspective that realates well where you are photographing from. Keep up the good work.
