2012 Alberta Avenue Deep Freeze festival photo tour

Here are some photos from the Deep Freeze festival on 118th ave today, and some photos from our walk down 118th from home to the event. It was a gorgeous day out, great for getting out with the dogs and taking in a street festival in the neighborhood.

Great turnout, lots fun & activities for everyone, Huge kudos to Kristy & the entire group that continues to make this event extremely successful, and a big draw for people from all over Edmonton

Nice pics. I see that dude with the sunglasses on his dog downtown all the time.

Also, that rusted metal scary tree looking stove/firepit is a leftover from Winterlight in Churchill last year. Is this event put on by Winterlight as well?

I don't think the events are related, Arts on the Ave is an independent organization although I am sure that event organizers borrow stuff between themselves... there were three of those things... all I know is that I want one for my back yard!

Wish I had gotten out yesterday when it was livelier out (a lot of businesses on 118th are closed on Sundays) but it was really nice to walk down 118th from 94th to 83rd and see almost no empty storefronts, no undesirable activity and lots of people & families walking around. Light years ahead of where we were even a few years ago.

Had the dogs with us so could not go inside to any of the venues but the Nina Haggerty ars centre was full, as was the Carrot, the dance studio, Green Frogs and the Alberta Ave hall. It's too bad Paraiso was closed... I wanted to pick up a bottle of Valentina on the way home!

Alberta Ave keeps looking more appealing. I'll have to stop and walk around sometime.

Great event, nice tour 240. We ended up getting tied up this weekend and unfortunately missed the event, but plan on much food around there in 2012.
