29.

The second Millennium tower is under construction in Westchase. It's 22 floors. It's not on the database for either proposed or under construction. It's been under construction for over a month now I think. BTW there's another building under construction next to it and one across the freeway between Sam Houston and Rogerdale where that 6 story corporate building with the pond/lake in front of it.

Right off the top of my head - Belfiore, Marriott Marquis and Air Liquide Centre towers are missing from the list. Samsung Tower is pretty much complete, same for the Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and some of those floor counts are incorrect.

Some of the UC's don't have cranes yet, so technically still on the proposed list. 609 Main has a crane, but it's being used for demolition. Keeping that list updated over the next several months is going to be challenging indeed.

Urbannizer's pretty good at keeping track. He's added everything to the development map. http://devmap.io/cities/houston/developments##401

BTW Urbannizer, is it possible to add the new international terminal at Hobby and the new Terminal B and Mickey Leeland International terminal at IAH to the development map? The renderings for the new terminal at IAH are amazing FTR.

Sounds good, I'll also add the Galleria redevelopment to the map.

Interesting map. I didn't see the Halliburton campus expansion(two 8-story buildings on Beltway 8 near the airport), but it's pretty comprehensive.

I'm trying to think of anything that may not be on there but it seems to have it all. I'll check HAIF and my posts here to see if there's anything else missing.

Edit: Research Forest Lakeside might be the only thing left. I think it has nearly half a dozen to a dozen buildings 6-8 stories in its blueprints.

Doesn't Houston have more skyscrapers in the city limits than Los Angeles?

Thankfully Urbanizer, for the most part, focuses on urban development that will have an impact on the core of the city. We don't need to know about every office park or garden style apartment complex that are a dime a dozen developing on the fringes.

I've spent quite a bit of time in LA and the thing that always strikes this highrise-buff as odd is how few highrises it has for such a gargantuan city.

And Houston has even fewer ?

Yesssss, I also feel like most small suburban developments should not be mentioned here.

Since when is 400 feet an official number for the definition of a skyscraper?

Besides, there are multiple clusters of tall buildings all over the Los Angeles region, especially in places like Glendale and Long Beach, just for a few examples.

The two Halliburton buildings are taller than the apartment wrap-arounds and closer in than the Exxon Mobil campus. But that one's been a quiet project. Halliburton's not blowing a horn over it. They both appear to have topped out.
