On Sunday she was riding high and level. Can't see that amount of ice pushing her up now. But there is always the chance.

from the journal's reporting:

"According to the Alberta River Basins weekly graph of the river, water levels started to rise to around six metres around Sunday before dropping back to roughly five metres between Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday, water levels shot up to a high of eight metres before falling back down to five metres.

that's a 10 swing in the level of the water.

as for the ice, it's gone from the river but i have watched some pretty large floes over the last week or so, on of which looked to be 4 - 6 feet in depth and at least twice the length of the queen.

There's a machine working at Rafter's Landing as we speak. Can't really see what it's doing, will have to wander by later.

The Walterdale bridge amazes me everytime. I'm so glad City of Edmonton went that route. The Tawatina Bridge while not unique will also be an amazing addition to skyline shots.

The Parks towers at 108th and Jasper will fill in the gap nicely in the middle left of that photo.
