Page 8:

Other alternatives considered were 1) No Build, i.e. use existing platforms, or 2) Extend the existing platforms. Both options were rejected, as neither provided sufficient capacity to accommodate customers departing events at the Arena.

The slide handout makes no sense...the contextual rendering on page 4 shows a side platform, but all of the rest of the renderings and details are about a center platform.

"Everyone" better get used to the idea that you can't drive everywhere in San Francisco because there won't be much parking here. People coming from the East Bay can walk from Embarcadero BART if they have good legs or pack themselves onto a Metro car either at Embarcadero or Powell if not. And South Bay fans can take CalTrain and also get on Muni Metro at 4th & King or walk.

And there's always Uber/Lyft.

I haven't heard if there'll be ferry service like at ATT Park but that may be an option also.

Sounds time consuming for all options... but what can you do, right?

I'm coming from Milpitas so BART + Muni + walking would be my best option to go to Chase Arena

if you're doing BART+Muni, then there doesn't have to be much walking - the Muni stop is right in front of the arena, closer than if you had parked somewhere, probably.

more generally, the Giants and Warriors aren't going to play on the same day very often - only occasionally during the playoffs, if the respective team makes it that far. plus, the neighborhood somehow already survives the Giants regularly, and this venue is supposed to generate only half the cars that ATT Park does, to start. as people get used to other options, I'm hopeful that will go down.

22nd St Caltrain is another option for the arena - from there it is a bit of a walk

Timbad's right. The Chase Center is being built exclusively for NBA/college basketball and for optimum basketball sightlines. So the Sharks/NHL won't be making an appearance there.
