The 40-story 2nd & Pike apartment tower has equipment onsite and protections going in. Seems like a potential start at any moment, matching the July start they've talked about.
The mix has changed. It's now 303 apartments, 37 lodging units, 6,660 sf of retail, and 244 parking spaces, including however many are for the retail, hotel staff, etc. It's pretty typical for a tower that was initially planned before the bust to reduce its parking count when it's built in the current boom.

This is big news for the area between the Pike Place Market and the Retail District, which has lately had a disorder problem and had glaring parking lots at 2nd & Pike and 2nd & Pine. Now both will have large residential towers, each with a hotel component and a little retail. Along with the concerted effort to deal with the disorder problem, this area is changing dramatically and in a phenenomenal way.
This will be the #11 residential at 440' tall to get built in the current boom, and the #15 tower in the 440' (or 430' maybe) to 660' range in the current boom. Plus a couple in Bellevue.
