Busted out my IR filter I bought years ago for the D70 and used em on my new D7000.

It makes an otherwise super incredibly bright crappy mid afternoon into a cornucopia of endless photographic possibilities.

Those are amazing. The effect reminds me of old timey turn of the century photos. Any ideas where I could get one?

I have the Hoya R72 67mm ir filter, they cost about 120-200 bucks depending on the size you want. Im sure you could get a used one on ebay for a little cheaper. See what thread size the lens you want to use it on is. You have to frame the photo and stuff before you put the filter on because otherwise you cant see what you are doing. Then, you set the camera to around a 5 second shutter or more in broad daylight on about f5.6 or so, well this is all dependent also on what kinda equipment you are using.

$120 for a filter? I had to build up confidence to get a $49 CPL for my wide angle! I think I'll sit this purchase out.

I've barely had time to take any photos lately, which sucks because I have these awesome new prime lenses and there are lots of nice spring colours

Sweet, what new lenses did you get flar?

I am editing some photos tonight for a client and don't usually care too much about the photos I have to take to make money, but thought I'd share this one, everything just came together at the right moment and I know that the mom of the daughter in the photo will be pleased, at least I hope so.

Is that in Portland? Its kick ass. I love the early 19th century tavern looking building next to it also. Wish we had stuff like that down here in Htown.
