I was glad to see that JUMP didn't come out bright red, but does have awesome colored LEDs that make the building very dynamic and fun. Zions has a touch of neon as well. Hopefully this starts a development trend the city actually encourages since they are so big on keeping design styles similar throughout downtown. Down with Brown.

Question: Is part of the building timber framed? Or is it just wood cladding over steel?

Probably my biggest pet peeve related to buildings and architecture is the hvac and other items placed on the roof without being integrated into the design. Those on top of this building stick out, especially when coming off of the connector. Hopefully there's more to it that has to be constructed. It's almost as bad when they are stuck in a bland rectangle like many of the portico buildings in Meridian.

i agree 1,000%. especially for the kind of money Simplot's paying for this landmark building.

however, according to the rendering on page 6 of the PDF below, it looks like they are planning on hiding the HVAC around some sort of wall. i'm hoping they will, though it will still look detached from the rest of the design:

http://tokcommercial.com/webphotos/w...fice_flyer.pdf

the Zion tower did a very good job of concealing their HVAC. future projects should take note of that and do the same.

Took this photo 4-8-2016 of Simplot HQ air handlers and other mechanical equipment being hidden by massive screen.
