^Absolutely.

And it's only going to get better as the redevelopment of 1 Park Row has only been partially revealed and promises to likely be another stunning addition. When it's all done it really is going to be an amazing before and after.

Okay, once again I betray my easily confusable self and need to ask:

Using post #78 as a reference, is the part with the cladding already on and the part with the prison-jumpsuit orange two parts of this one project?

^Two separate projects.

The project on the left is 1 Beekman (aka 33-34 Park Row) designed by Richard Rogers and is almost finished. It has a thread here.

It’s such an amazing reminder of how far skyscraper technology has come to think that 15 Park Row (the tower with the two copper domes/cupolas, if you’re not familiar with it) was the tallest building in the world when it opened, but this tower is something like 200 feet taller and it’s just considered an average-sized building—maybe even a little short by current NYC standards.

Even at this height for this development, it won't really stand out as a whole. Its all relative to where its at. This area is getting taller as a whole (surrounding blocks). Plop this in Midtown, and its a drop in the bucket. Plop it in LIC or DoBro, and yeah, it'll make headway. When we factor in the whole city, this won't even crack the top 50. Something like the 57th or 58th tallest at its height once complete. IF completed today like at this moment in time which will only become higher, as it distances itself in the rankings as "X" time progresses. Add 2 or 3 years, and this will diminish in its height rank.

23 Park Row Reaches Halfway Mark Above City Hall Park In Lower Manhattan

Quote:
It’s up, up, and away for the new residential skyscraper at 23 Park Row, which is now visible from the 9/11 Memorial. The tower is being designed by COOKFOX Architects, and the developers are L&M Development Partners and the J&R Music Store founders, whose business formerly occupied the same site. The structure will soon rise 54 stories into the Lower Manhattan skyline, to a height of 702 feet. The lot sits in between 1 Beekman, aka “The Pearl on The Park,” which has now topped-off, and the 119-year old Park Row Building. The latter is about to be surpassed in height by its new neighbor, most likely by the beginning of August.

With nearly 350,000 square feet of interior space, the future residential building will include retail on the bottom floors along Park Row, and 13 parking spots. Up above, there will be 108 apartments. As of right now, the first exterior panels have already arrived and have been installed on the north facing wall of the building that abuts 1 Beekman. The form of the building starts with a bulky base that rises and grows thinner, and will eventually terminate with a stepped roof parapet.

In the foreground. Directly next to the POS called 5 Beekman. Also in front of 8 Spruce aka New York by Gehry. Fortunatly this will help mask it from some angles.
