Any thoughts regarding the 500K King East Center ? Supposedly great gulf will be moving their HQ their but there's probably only 70K or so.

QRC secured a tenant and is now actually going ahead firm (they started some construction before but it was just the restoration work).

I do agree with you though, that's likely it for the big projects. Maybe the one beside the ICE towers as well.

Not a ton, around 100K I think.

As for King East Centre, I don't have a clue. I'll ask around but I don't think it's on too many peoples radar. Also Great/first gulf is a pretty lean shop so their headquarters wont really make a dent in a ~500,000sf building. Maybe a floor or so.

Ice's office tower is definitely stalled, awaiting a tenant.

so they would be building 700,000k on spec then... that is quite a bit.

Thanks LeftCoaster, I'm sure you've been asked this before, but are you in the commercial real estate industry ?

Word at UT is that Ernst & Young is taking up 11 floors at 100 Adelaide West. There's also been word that CPP Investment Board is taking up some space.

Seems like some solid major tenants.

Well looks like the cats out of the bag. E&Y is the tenant I was hinting at a while ago. I still think its not quite complete but its 95% sure at this point.

Word is they are leaving the current E&Y tower due to the signage application being rejected by the heritage people.

Can we take this to mean that 100 Adelaide West will sport an E&Y sign?

The source at UT who broke the E&Y tenancy also said that they'll be taking the top floor, which is listed as the 40th. Given the design of this tower, if we include the height of the mechanical box, that probably puts us around 44 storeys, or just under 200 metres.

Wow, they are seriously leaving the TD building because of signage ??

That can't be the only reason ? That's hilarious if true, I didn't think firms really placed much value in signage ?

Thanks LeftCoaster, yes, I do believe I know what company you are referring too : )

With KPMG and Deloitte at Bay-Adelaide Centre, Adelaide Street is becoming Accounting Row. Soon Adelaide will have a streetwall on par with Bay.

Yep. They were looking at other options with other developers, all of whom had E&Y Signage.

One of the options that fell through would have been far more spectacular than Adelaide west, but it will see the light of day soon.

Well I'm not sure it was the only reason, but it was likely the straw that broke the camels back.

A lease on one sign can run in the six figures per year. It's a big deal especially when the competition has them and you don't.

It looks like construction will start on INDX on February 1. A permit has been granted for street closures, etc.
